Drum-scanning produced a 55 MB file. Had we allowed the directional sunlight to reach under the canopy, we would lose the east elevation of the building to shadow. The alternative would be to illuminate the entrance artificially with strobe lights and increase both the budget and complexity of the photo shoot. Our solution was to scan the image and digitally touch up the entrance to deliver an image of superb quality. We not only addressed the canopy problem successfully but we were also able to improve landscape features, unwanted reflections, and more. ![]() Above: Original 35 mm transparency; digital size is 18 MB |
