A promising new procedure places a digital image of the patient's own eye onto an ocular prosthetic.

Photoenhancements.com prepared the original image for the next step, that of embedding it onto a 3-D ocular prosthetic.

We removed the specular highlight and the consequent shadow to the right of the pupil.

The goal is to quickly produce a custom-tailored ocular prosthetic of excellent quality and minimal cost. Although this technique is still in the experimental stage, chances are that will be embraced by the ocular community and be implemented on a broad scale.
